World's best athletes return to Glasgow ten years on from Commonwealth Games

Ten years on from the Commonwealth Games the best athletes on the planet will return to Glasgow for the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships. The Emirates Arena will host 5,000 fans and up to 700 track and field's of finest, from more than 130 countries, from 1-3 March 2024.

Ad Mondo Duplantis, Yulimar Rojas, Marcell Jacobs, Shaunae Miller-Uibo were among the stars to shine at the last edition of the event, staged in Belgrade in 2022. «Glasgow and Scotland have always been committed to innovation and delivering sport focused, athlete centred events,» said Doyle, a 17-time major medallist who retired in 2021. «I know from competing at the Emirates regularly that the atmosphere will be incredible, so I urge all athletics fans to preregister for tickets while they can!» Minds will be sharpened by the fact that the event comes just six months before the Olympic Games and is part of the qualification process for Paris 2024. The Emirates Arena successfully hosted the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2019 and the event will be delivered by Glasgow Life on behalf of Glasgow City Council, through a partnership with the Scottish Government, EventScotland, UK Sport, and UK Athletics.
