World Cup fever begins in Saudi Arabia — but where can fans watch the games?

RIYADH: Not many football fans will be making the journey to North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but that does not mean they will miss out on the atmosphere.

Across Saudi Arabia, venues are preparing for over a month of football fever as supporters look for the perfect place to follow the action. From large-scale fan zones to cosy cafes and rooftop lounges, there will be no shortage of options for those hoping to watch the world’s biggest sporting event.

The Coca-Cola Fanzone at JAX District

One of Riyadh’s largest football gathering spots will be the Coca-Cola Fan Zone at JAX District. Combining giant screens, live entertainment and food options, the venue is designed to recreate the atmosphere of a major tournament while bringing fans together throughout the competition.

Fans can choose from a variety of ticket packages, with single-match tickets starting from SR60 ($16) and including a food and beverage voucher, while two-match packages are available from SR100. VIP experiences are also available for those looking to elevate their matchday experience.

The latest matches shown at the venue will kick off at 1 a.m., with one notable exception: Saudi Arabia’s group-stage clash against Cape Verde on June 27, which will also be screened despite its 3 a.m. kick-off.

Up2You Cafe, Al-Malqa

A favourite among football supporters in northern Riyadh, Up2You Cafe has become known for its dedicated sports-viewing experience. Large screens and tiered seating provide a stadium-like feel, making it a popular choice for major matches.

Mercury Lounge, Tahlia Street

For fans who prefer a darker, lounge-style atmosphere, Mercury Lounge has become a popular destination for major football matches. With more than 25 screens
