Muirfield will play host to the Women’s Open for the first time in its history, with Anna Nordqvist back to defend the title she won at Carnoustie in 2021. With its position close to the sea, benign conditions are rare and the players will likely have to contend with wind, and changes of direction and speed, throughout the week.
