Let's go way back to late September last year when the Aussie women kicked off the summer with a one-off Test against India. There was much excitement for the day-night match on the Gold Coast, but sadly the Queensland weather and some determined batting made it a pretty meek affair.

But the Aussies were short of their best in that match, particularly with the ball. No doubt they will be much sharper at this stage of the season, but if the English were to look back at that match they would find plenty to be optimistic about.

It might not be a fair comparison, but when the women only get to play two Tests a summer (at most) it's all we have to go off!
