Woman too embarrassed to answer the front door looks incredible now

A gran whose size left her too embarrassed to open her front door has revealed how she managed to shed three and a half stone.

Sue Yeadon had tried multiple different slimming groups and diets over the years but always ended putting the weight back on.

The 72-year-old saw her size balloon from snacking on sweet treats and having bread and butter with every meal.

But the mum-of-three knew she needed to make huge changes when she realised her weight left her too self-conscious to answer the door.

Sue, from Barnton, just outside Warrington, signed up to Greater Manchester and Cheshire slimming group Beeweighed in July 2023.

By calorie counting and taking long walks with her grandchildren, she went on to lose an incredible three and a half stone – going from 15st 4lbs to 11st 12lbs.

“All my life I’ve been doing slimming groups and stupid diets,” she told the Manchester Evening News. “Any fad diet. I’ve lost the weight and put it back on because you’re virtually on your own.

“I only have a couple of pounds left to go until my target weight of 40lbs. I did it really for my health. My blood pressure and cholesterol were high. I couldn’t do simple things like playing with my grandkids.”

But it wasn’t just her health that was impacted – with Sue suffering from poor self-esteem due to her weight.

“If someone knocked on the door, I really didn’t want to answer,” she said. “I didn’t want people to see me like that.

“It’s terrible. It’s your own fault anyway because it’s the food you put in your mouth that’s making you like that. I love my food.
