Woman suffers facial injuries after being attacked on bus

A woman suffered facial injuries after being attacked on a bus. Police have released an image of a man they want to identify in connection with the incident, which is said to have happened in Salford.

Greater Manchester Police said the woman was assaulted on the 52 bus, a service which runs from the Trafford Centre through Salford and north Manchester before terminating in Failsworth. The alleged attack is said to have occurred while the bus was on Gilda Brook Road in Eccles, at about 7.30pm on October 28 last year.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers investigating an assault on the Go Northwest 52 bus on 28 October 2022 are seeking help to identify the man in this image. The assault happened whilst the bus was on Gilda Brook Road at approximately 7.30pm, leaving the victim with facial injuries.

"The pictured man is thought to have got on the bus at Eccles Bus Terminal accompanied by a woman. Enquiries have been ongoing since the report, and anyone who recognises this man should contact DC Bellis on 0161 856 5194 quoting log 430 of 29/10/22."
