Woman, 26, found dead in New Islington apartment building
A woman was tragically found dead in an apartment building in New Islington on Sunday (January 26). Police and paramedics were called to a concern for welfare report at the property on Lampwick Lane, at around 1pm.
Emergency services erected a cordon after the body of a 26-year-old woman was recovered. Investigations are now underway to establish a 'timeline of events' leading up to her death.
Officers remained at the scene overnight, with a police car stationed nearby to the Chips residential building throughout Monday.
There are currently not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman's death, however enquiries remain ongoing.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 1pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday 26 January) we were called by colleagues in the North West Ambulance Service to Lampwick Lane in New Islington after reports of a concern for welfare.
"Emergency services attended and sadly discovered the body of a 26-year-old woman. At this time, we do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances.
"A scene will remain in place on Lampwick Lane whilst officers establish a timeline of events and enquiries are ongoing into her death."
