Woman, 26, dies after boyfriend 'strangled her during sex' before he took his own life hours later

A mother has issued a heartbreaking tribute to a 26-year-old dancer who died after being strangled by her boyfriend.

Georgia May Brooke, from Ossett, passed away at Bradford Royal Infirmary in the early hours of Friday, February 4, 2022. Her boyfriend, Luke Cannon, was discovered deceased later that day, having taken his own life.

The inquest was told that Georgia's death was caused by 'manual strangulation', which occurred in conjunction with the use of 'party drug' GHB and cocaine. At the inquest hearing in Bradford, Georgia's mother, Samantha Beaumont, recalled how Georgia was a talented dancer, Yorkshire Live reports.

She noted how she achieved distinctions in dance exams and secured a scholarship to a renowned performing arts school in London. She had been employed as a dancer at a hotel in Crete and was excited about her plans to return to Greece.

Samantha, tearfully addressing the hearing, spoke of the immense loss Georgia's death had brought upon the family.

The inquest heard that paramedics were called to a house in Thornbury, Bradford, where they found Georgia
