Wolves fans 'gutted' after late Arsenal collapse

Wolverhampton Wanderers fell to a devastating late 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates this evening, despite leading for the majority of the game.

Bruno Lage's side took the lead early in the first half through Hwang Hee-chan following a mix-up between Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and defender Gabriel.

But with less than 10 minutes of normal time left to play, Nicolas Pepe netted an equaliser for Mikel Arteta's Gunners, before Alexandre Lacazette then won the game in the fifth minute of second half additional time.

The defeat is Wolves ' first Premier League loss this calendar year, but Lage's team have still collected 15 points out of the last 21 on offer since the turn of the New Year having won five of their last seven Premier League games.

And Wolves fans on social media have been reacting to their side's result in the capital. Here's a sample of what they have been saying on Twitter...

@ : Turned up for about 20 minutes of the game then let Arsenal dominate.

@ : No complaints there. Arsenal the better team and got their subs right. Valiant defensive effort but didn’t take our chances when they came. On to Sunday.

@ : Unlucky tonight wolves on to the next game.

@ : Once again, the words missed and opportunity sum it up again for us.

@ : Let's face it, that was a pretty one sided affair. Always gutting to concede in the final minutes, but we didn't play well.

@ : Too many
