Wolves 'definitely' have an interest in Renato Sanches
According to journalist Tom Collomosse, there’s ‘definitely interest’ in LOSC Lille midfielder Renato Sanches from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 24-year-old was linked with a move to Molineux in the summer before a knee injury ended any hopes of securing a switch away from the reigning French champions.
According to Sky Sports, Wolves were in talks to bring Sanches to the club back in September before ending the negotiations after the two clubs failed to reach an agreement over a loan deal.
It’s believed that Lille refused to make any concessions in their demands following the 32-cap Portugal international’s fitness woes, resulting in him staying put for the current campaign.
However, in a recent interview with L’Equipe (as relayed by The Mirror), Sanches revealed how he is now ‘ready’ to take the next step in his development after rebuilding his career at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
But Wolves may have some fierce competition for the engine room operator’s signature, with Spanish outlet AS claiming Barcelona, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping close tabs on the player’s situation.
Sanches himself disclosed how the Gunners and AC Milan are interested in him, meaning it’s shaping up to be an intriguing summer for the former Golden Boy winner.
With just 18 months remaining on his current contract and Lille needing to offload players to reduce their debt, Sanches – who is valued at £27m by Transfermarkt – is widely expected to be the next big-name to depart the club.
