Wolves: Bruno Lage has 'already spoken to' £30m star at Molineux

Wolves star Morgan Gibbs-White has been given reservations by Bruno Lage over his game-time ahead of the new season, according to Midlands journalist Josh Holland.

The 21-year-old has been strongly linked away from Molineux, but Holland reckons there’s every chance the youngster could even end up committing his future to his boyhood club by signing a new deal.

Having performed expertly while on loan at Sheffield United in the Championship last season, Gibbs-White has attracted attention from the Premier League.

According to Sky Sports, Everton remain in talks over a move for the attacker, although the two clubs still remain apart in their valuation.

The report states that it’s still unclear whether Wolves actually want to sell Gibbs-White, but having just two years left on his contract could persuade them that this is the right time to cash in.

Nottingham Forest are also interested in Gibbs-White’s services, but 90min reckon that Lage’s team are hoping to get closer to the £30m mark if they do decide to let him leave.

But Holland reckons Lage has already informed the youngster that he’s part of his plans and has also claimed that despite intense speculation surrounding his future, Gibbs-White wants to stay.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I’ve been told that Lage has already told him that he’s going to be starting and feature next season. So, if that comes through and if that happens, he will sign a contract.

“He wants to stay at Wolves, and the only reason he would want to leave is to get first-team minutes.”

Despite producing little of note in his Premier League career, with just one goal and one assist in 46 games, Gibbs-White’s exploits at Bramall Lane mean he has every right to want regular minutes.

He managed 23 goal
