Wolves: 'Big test for Lage' over £35.6m Molineux star who 'needs a reset'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Bruno Lage is facing up to ‘another big test’ due to Fabio Silva being in need of ‘a reset’, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Silva broke Wolves’ club-record fee when he joined from Portuguese giants Porto for £35.6million in 2020, but he has failed to live up to expectations.

In his Express & Star column, via Molineux.News, former Wolves midfielder David Edwards admitted to being impressed with the frontman’s performance in the defeat to West Ham United last month, suggesting Silva ‘looks stronger and fitter and his hold-up play was excellent at times’.

The journalist believes a change of scenery could result in Silva being able to recapture the form which drew him to Wolves’ attention in the first place.

However, he is unsure as to whether a temporary switch away from the West Midlands would be the best option
