Wolves: 58 y/o manager 'now in the running' to succeed Lage at Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers could appoint Peter Bosz as their new manager as he is ‘now in the running’ to succeed Bruno Lage in the Molineux dugout, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Lage was sacked by the Wolves hierarchy earlier this month and chairman Jeff Shi has been on the lookout for a replacement since.

According to The Times, Bosz and Michael Beale have been in talks with Wolves over the vacant manager’s job as the key decision-makers behind the scenes up the ante.

The report suggests the duo are on a three-man shortlist of candidates which also includes Nuno Espirito Santo, who only left the Molineux hot seat last year.

It is understood that Bosz impressed in discussions with the club after emerging as a candidate to succeed Lage at the helm.

The 58-year-old is currently out of work, having been sacked by Ligue 1 giants Lyon in October, so Wolves would not need to pay a compensation fee if they looked to hand him the reins.

Steve Davis and James Collins have been in interim charge since Lage was shown the door, but it appears the West Midlands side are nearing an appointment.

Jones understands that Bosz is in the race to be unveiled as Wolves' next manager and also believes he is a better option than Queens Park Rangers head coach Michael Beale.

The journalist feels the Dutchman has shone elsewhere and has urged supporters to keep tabs on the situation.
