Wladimir Klitschko was tempted to come out of retirement to fight Tyson Fury

Former heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko has admitted he’s been tempted to challenge Tyson Fury to a rematch.

While it’s been a few years now since he walked away from the sport, Wladimir Klitschko will forever be remembered as one of the all-time greats of his era. The 46-year-old is currently back home in Ukraine in the midst of the ongoing invasion, showcasing just how committed he is to his homeland alongside brother Vitali and a range of other brave citizens.

Oleksandr Usyk has now left the country in order to prepare for his upcoming rematch with Anthony Joshua, and you’d have thought a comeback would be the last thing Klitschko is thinking about right now.

Alas, war can do funny things to a man, and just the idea of jumping back in there to take on someone like Tyson Fury was enough to put a smile on his face during a recent interview with Piers Morgan.

“I was thinking I should tweet Tyson Fury – ‘Last dance?’

“Since he wants to retire and we were supposed to have this rematch. I didn’t do it because my mind was now in a totally different world.”
