Wimbledon tickets 2023: Prices, how to buy and when to join the queue

The 2023 Wimbledon Championships are here and tennis fans can still get their hands on tickets for one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the summer. Although the ballot for tickets has been drawn and sold out, Wimbledon remains one of the few major sporting events where the public can buy premium tickets on the day of play.

Organisers put 500 tickets on sale for Centre Court (excluding the last four days of the championships), No.1 Court, and No.2 Court for each day the courts are in play. Grounds passes are also available which give access to courts including No.3 Court, Court 12 and Court 18, as well as Murray Mount, where action from Centre and No.1 Courts is screened to fans, reports the Mirror.

The Queue usually starts the evening before and gets increasingly busy the closer it gets to play starting. According to Wimbledon's website, those who join the queue by 9am have a good chance of getting hold of a ticket or a grounds pass, though this is not guaranteed.

Tournament organisers also warn that there is a capacity limit and once it is reached, entry will only be possible if people leave. Tickets in The Queue are sold on a best available, one per person basis and are non-transferable.

Ground Passes cost £27 and will be reduced from day nine of the championships onwards. Spectators on site can also make use of the ticket resale scheme or by purchasing Debentures tickets via secondary market resellers.

When buying returned show tickets, attendees must go to the Ticket Resale Kiosk north of Court 18. Those tickets will be available for £15 for Centre Court and £10 for Courts No.1 and No.2, though they will not be sold
