Wimbledon: Iga Swiatek's record-breaking win streak ended by Alize Cornet

Iga Swiatek’s remarkable 37-match win streak has come to an end after being beaten by France’s Alize Cornet in the third round at Wimbledon.

Swiatek’s stunning run of form, which started back in February at the Qatar Open, saw her win the Sunshine Double and her second French Open title.

The Polish star had not been defeated since assuming the number one ranking from Ashleigh Barty but Cornet was the deserving victor on Court One –– triumphing in straight sets 6-4 6-2.
