Arsenal centre-back William Saliba has impressed during his current loan spell with Marseille this season but his future remains uncertain. There have been plenty of calls for the 21-year-old to be included in the first-team squad at the Emirates from next season and finally make his debut.

Saliba was signed by Unai Emery in the summer of 2019 from Saint-Etienne but he was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 club for the following campaign. He has worked his way up the French division with subsequent spells with Nice and Marseille this season.

This season has seen him move to another level, however, thriving under the guidance of Jorge Sampaoli and even earning his first call-up to the France first team. But there remain fears among Arsenal fans that they will never see the talented defender strut his stuff in Mikel Arteta's side.

"I’ve never hidden the fact that I feel good here. I don’t know what my future holds, there’s still two months to go," Saliba told RMC Sport via The Mirror back in March. "The most important thing is to qualify for the Champions League and go as far as possible in the Conference League.
