Wild Beauty bolsters 1000 Guineas claims with Newbury verdict
The filly was piloted by William Buick and was priced at a reasonable 3/1 ahead of the race commonly known as the Fred Darling.
The three-year-old powered forward at the furlong pole to gain further ground and beat the 11/4 favourite, Roger and Harry Charlton's Jumbly.
Ahead of the weekend, Wild Beauty was a 20/1 shot for the upcoming 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 1. However, that has now been shortened to 12/1 following her Newbury success.

"She wanted a mile last year and she stayed on really well and went through the gears nicely from just over three out.
"We will leave that to Charlie and the team. I don't know which one, I honestly don't, but the French one was touted beforehand."
