Why Gvardiol, Doku and Lewis aren't in confirmed Man City Premier League squad
Manchester City have confirmed their Premier League squad for the remainder of the season.
The Blues have a list of 18 players to pick from with the remainder of options available to Pep Guardiola coming from the Under-21 list. It means the likes of Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku are not part of the senior selection given their age.
The likes of Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis also do not need to be included with with each club's registered Under-21 players eligible regardless. Premier League clubs have had to submit their squad lists following the conclusion of the January transfer window with a maximum of 25 named in the official list, of which 17 can be non-'home-grown'. City have six classed as homegrown and in theory could add seven free agents to their squad.

The notable absentees include players who departed during the winter window. Kalvin Phillips is no longer included following his loan move to West Ham while goalkeeper Zach Steffan departed for MLS side Colorado Rapids.
City's squad list of 18 is among the lowest in the division given there is space for 25 players. The Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime when they host Everton at the Etihad knowing a win could take them top of the table.
City's Premier League squad: Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, Julian Alvarez, Scott Carson, Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Phil Foden, Sergio Gomez, Jack Grealish, Erling Haaland, Rodri, Mateo Kovacic, Bernardo Silva, Matheus Nunes, Stefan Ortega, Ederson, John Stones, Kyle Walker.
