Why Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest is kicking off at the earlier time of 7pm

The reason why Nottingham Forest's match against Bournemouth on Tuesday will kick off at 7pm has been revealed.

Initially, the match on the south coast was due to kick off at 7:45pm but will now get under way at an earlier time. No official reason has been given since the kick-off time was changed.

The match has been selected for live broadcast in the UK and is set to be shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football, with coverage getting under way from 6:30pm. Despite the game being shown on television, they are not behind the change in kick-off time.

NottinghamshireLive understands that the kick-off time is believed to have been requested for convenience, partly to allow Forest fans to get back home at an earlier time in the middle of the week.

It is the clubs' second attempt at playing the match after it was called off at late notice in mid-February due to damage caused to the Vitality Stadium by severe storms. Forest wanted to play the match the following day, but they were unsuccessful in their appeals and made a formal complaint to the EFL days later.

The situation frustrated fans who had already travelled down to the game, many taking time off work and booking accommodation. It has added more fuel to an already intense race for automatic promotion.
