Why Antony is not in Manchester United squad vs Leicester after Ajax transfer

Antony completed his long-awaited transfer to Manchester United on deadline day, after the club finally got their man.

The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option of an additional year, after United agreed a fee rising to €100million (£85.1m) with Ajax for his services. As for when the Brazilian could make his maiden outing, United supporters will be disappointed to learn he cannot play tonight in the Premier League clash against Leicester. Ten Hag's troops are looking for a third successive win at the King Power Stadium (8pm kick off).

Speaking after his unveiling, Antony said: "This is an incredible moment in my career to be joining one of the most iconic clubs in the world," he said.
