Who killed Ashley Dale and where are they now?

Ashley Dale was killed two years ago on Wednesday. In the early hours of August 21, 2022, the 28-year-old was shot dead as part of a feud involving her attacker, his friends and her boyfriend.

A day later, nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel was also shot to death in her own home by a masked gunman who forced himself into the family home. Both murders took place on Merseyside within two miles of each other and rocked the local community.

Now, a four-part documentary being broadcast on consecutive nights offers insights into the police investigations that followed, revealing how officers tracked down those responsible. The case of two people who were each shot in their own homes within less than two days of each other.

Merseyside Police came under growing pressure to find the gunmen. The documentary reveals that some people involved with a web of feuding organised crime groups were forced to decide whether or not to talk to the police.

Environmental health worker Ashley was killed when gunman James Witham forced his way into her home in Old Swan, Liverpool, just after 12.30am on August 21, 2022. Witham, 41, was wearing a balaclava and carrying a Skorpion sub-machine gun loaded with 15 bullets when he broke through the front door of Ms Dale’s home.

Ms Dale was standing by the back door in the kitchen when she was hit in the abdomen, the court heard. Witham and three other men were convicted of the murder – Niall Barry, 26, Sean Zeisz, 28 and Joseph Peers, 29.
