Who is in the Queen of the South season 5 cast on Netflix?

Sadly, season five of Queen of the South will be the last for the USA Network Crime Drama that began back in 2016. However, the show is going out on a high, with an IMDB score of 8.1/10 and a Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 85%.

For a while, it was touch and go about whether or not season five would actually get made, with showrunner, writer, and co-executive producer Ben Lobato tweeting back in 2019 that he was "Still waiting on S5 pick up."

After multiple delays, the show was eventually aired on USA Network back in April of last year. Still, streamers and fans outside of the USA have had to wait a lot longer for the new series to drop.

Ahead of its release, Alice Braga (who plays Teresa) tweeted, "Teresa is ready to take her crown. A new season of #QueenOfTheSouth is coming to @USA_Network this April."

The show (originally based on the bestselling novel La Reina del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte) eventually hit the streaming platform Netflix on March 9, 2022, despite the previous seasons usually dropping in May.

Season 5 of the show will see some familiar faces return, and the lead character, Teresa, will contemplate her reign at the top of the drug organization while trying to stay one step ahead of both the CIA and other gangs.
