Who could Tottenham face in Champions League draw? Potential group stage opponents
Tottenham are back in the Champions League after a two-year absence and arguably never better positioned to succeed.
Spurs, beaten finalists in 2019, have added the likes of past winner Ivan Perisic to their ranks, and have serial winner Antonio Conte in charge.
However, Conte’s record in Europe is a rare weak spot on his CV and has failed to get out of the group stage, with Inter Milan, in his last two attempts.
Here’s the lay of the land ahead of Thursday’s group stage draw.
Pot 1
Real Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt, Man City, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Porto, Ajax
Pot 2
Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, RB Leipzig, Tottenham
Pot 3
Borussia Dortmund, Salzburg, Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan, Napoli, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Bayer Leverkusen
Pot 4
Rangers, Dinamo Zagreb, Marseille, Copenhagen, Club Brugge, Celtic, Viktoria Plzen, Maccabi Haifa
The draw for the Champions League group stage is on Thursday, August 25, at 5pm BST.
