Where to watch the 2024 Olympics in Manchester - best sports bars, pubs and fan zones in the city centre

There is more to get excited about this summer, as the biggest sporting showcase is expected to takeover Manchester. The Summer of Sport is set to continue with the Olympics and Paralympics fast approaching.

On Friday night (July 26), fans will get to enjoy the spectacle of the opening ceremony of the Olympics 2024 in Paris - with rumoured guests possibly set to include Celine Dion and Lady Gaga. The event will also be the first opening ceremony held outside of an Olympic stadium since the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and will see participants take to the River Seine, with the never-before-seen spectacle expected to begin at 6:30pm.

With only hours remaining till the opening ceremony begins, fans will be looking for the perfect location to get into the Olympic spirit for this Summer of Sport - especially if the good weather makes an appearance.

Whilst many may still be recovering from the devastating defeat in the Euro's 2024 final and hoping to save money after an exciting tournament, there is still plenty on offer for sporting fans. Bars and venues across Manchester will be welcoming fans, as they hope to capitalise on the summer of sport. Hosting watch-a-long's and seated viewings for the international multi-sporting event in Paris.

Armchair athletes will be able to soak in the atmosphere, with action available across familiar locations in Greater Manchester. With fan zones, and screens being set up in the city to allow sports fans to be involved in the action, showcasing both the opening ceremony and the Games.
