Where BBC Boiling Point was filmed - and is Point North a real restaurant?
Major new restaurant drama Boiling Point is about to premiere on the BBC, bringing back the cast of the hit 2021 film of the same name. In the new series the action has moved on, with head chef Carly aiming to forge a name for herself at new restaurant, Point North.
In the film, actor Stephen Graham starred as under pressure chef Andy Jones trying to keep his chaotic kitchen and personal life together at his restaurant Jones & Sons before a dramatic collapse. The new BBC series will take the action forward by eight months, with Carly, played by Vinette Robinson, launching her own Point North restaurant having taken most of the kitchen crew from Jones & Son with her.
The action is once again set in the trendy Dalston area of London, and debuts on BBC1 on Sunday, October 1 at 9pm. But the series was actually all filmed in Manchester earlier this year.

The drama aims to explore the very real issues facing the hospitality industry right now, and for the people who work within it. That includes the mental health crisis across the high-pressure industry.
Director Phil Barantini says: "Restaurants work very similarly all over the world. There's the chef, then the hierarchy below but if you go deeper, there is a real mental health crisis across the industry which we’ve tried to show.
"The themes we touch upon are relatable across the globe, alcoholism, addiction, mental health, human beings going through a rough time. We wanted to shine a light on society on those issues and I want the audience to come away from each episode feeling something about themselves, or someone that they know."
