When will Storm Isha end?

Flight cancellations, road closures and power cuts were caused after Storm Isha battered the nation. Winds of up to 90mph put the UK at a stand-still after an amber warning was placed across the country on Sunday (January 21).

The storm saw a power outage at over 400 homes and businesses in Hazel Grove, Stockport with other areas such as Bolton, Tameside and Oldham seeing power cuts caused by the strong winds. The weather also caused major disruptions at airports with many flights delayed, cancelled or diverted, leaving some passengers 'stuck on runways'.

On Sunday morning, the Met Office placed an amber warning in Greater Manchester, with significant disruptions expected and a 'danger to life'. The warning was placed from 6pm Sunday until 6am Monday.

While many can expect the harsher winds of Storm Isha to finish around 6am on Monday, a yellow weather warning of heavy wind has been placed on the region until Wednesday (January 24). The Met Office says that members of the public can expect strong winds 'from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning with disruption to travel and utilities possible.'
