When new Blackpool shops, hotel, IMAX cinema and restaurants will open

A new retail complex with shops, cinema, and hotel and restaurants is set to open in Blackpool in the next few months. The dates and times are now in place for the multi-million-pound regeneration programme, which is set to help revitalise the town centre with new leisure, retail and transport infrastructure.

The new additions include a Holiday Inn hotel, an entertainment experience on the Golden Mile and a huge new car park with over 1,000 spaces. There will also be an extension to the tramway, which will improve access to the new hotel.

This comes as latest tourism figures show Blackpool continued to pull in millions of visitors this summer despite challenges including the cost of living crisis. Footfall on the Promenade between April and August increased by eight per cent this year compared to 2022 with 23.5 million people visiting the seafront – up from 21.8 million last year.

And the town centre saw a five per cent increase in footfall, from almost 14 million in 2022, to almost 14.7 million this year. Below we have listed the new attractions coming to Blackpool and when they are due to open.

The council said the retail experience “is an important aspect of the overall visitor economy”. The new Frasers department store is due to open on Friday, November 24 in the former Debenhams shop, with brands Flannels and Sports Direct also part of the offer.
