When is the Champions League final in 2022?

With the Champions League reaching the business end, four teams still have eyes on the showpiece final.

Real Madrid, Villarreal, Liverpool and Man City will all battle it out to get the chance of playing in one of the biggest games in world football.

Villarreal are hosting Liverpool in their second leg this evening, while Manchester City head to Madrid to decide their last-four encounter on Wednesday night.

Villarreal and Man City are yet to win a Champions League title, whereas the Reds and Los Blancos have won a combined 19 European trophies between them. So when is the big match?

The Champions League final will be held on Saturday, May 28, and kicks off at 8pm UK time.

The Champions League final will be played in the Stade de France, Paris.

The capacity of the stadium is 81,338, which is the seventh-largest stadium in Europe.

The game was originally intended to be played at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg, Russia. However, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, UEFA stripped the rights of the city to host the game.

The final will be televised on BT Sport 1 and will also be shown on the BT Sport app. In previous years, the Champions League final has been made available to stream on YouTube.

According to UEFA, a total of 52,000 tickets out of 81,338 are available for fans and the general public to purchase.

The two teams that reach the final will receive 20,000 each, while 12,000 tickets are being offered for sale to fans worldwide via UEFA.com (the window for this closed on Thursday, April 28).

Ten thousand of the tickets reserved for the fans of the two teams will be offered for free to reward the lifeblood of the game for their loyal support during the pandemic.
