What Steve Cooper told Nottingham Forest players in Wembley dressing room after Reds promoted

Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper told his players to ensure they spend time with their families as a video emerged of him addressing the squad in the dressing room after their Wembley glory.

The Reds have won promotion to the Premier League after a 23-year absence as they secured a 1-0 win over Huddersfield in the Championship play-off final courtesy of Levi Colwill's own goal before half-time.

Forest had to survive two nervy VAR calls after Harry Toffolo and Lewis O'Brien tumbled in the box amid strong appeals for a penalty, but were turned down on each occasion.

The Reds saw the win out amid glorious scenes at Wembley as the Reds returned to the top flight where they will rub shoulders with Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United next season.

In a video that was shown on Sky Sports, Cooper was filmed addressing a jubilant dressing room and said: "There are a couple of things I want to say to you.

"I just go back to that meeting that we had when we spoke about family. Make sure you spend time with your family today and all those who have been good to you in your life.

"There won't be anybody prouder than them."

Cooper then attempted to finish his speech by saying "and the second thing is" but before he could round off, Forest's players erupted into a chorus of cheers.
