Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and record-signing Romelu Lukaku were filmed embracing after winning the FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday.

It is a week that could well be viewed as a big one for Lukaku when we look back on the 2021-22 campaign.

Following an ill-judged interview at the start of the year, the 28-year-old's stock plummeted among the Chelsea supporters and his performances in 2022 have failed to repair that reputation.

A solitary goal against League Two Chesterfield in the FA Cup was all Lukaku had to brag about in front of goal heading into the Club World Cup, but strikes in the semi-final and final in the UAE could prove crucial.
