What Mohamed Salah's Liverpool decision could mean for Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal

Mohamed Salah finally appears to be close to a new contract at Anfield which would see him stay at Liverpool for the remainder of his career.

There has been doubt over the Egyptian's future in recent months, with the 29-year-old delaying signing a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona touted as potential destinations for the winger.

However, after rejecting a £400,000 per week deal earlier this season it finally looks as though he may be close to a new deal, with the Mirror reporting that Salah has had a change of heart, wanting to stay at Anfield.

One major point of influence for the winger wanting to stay on Merseyside appears to be the mutual affection between him and the Liverpool faithful.

However, despite that bond, Salah has been keen for a deal to reflect his status as one of the world's best players, with a deal to reflect Cristiano Ronaldo's £500,000 per week at Manchester United subject to the discussions.

The news will not be met with cheers from the fans of London's biggest clubs, who have seen Mohamed Salah dominate in the Premier League since his arrival in 2017, nearly five years ago.

The Egyptian's extended stay means that some of Europe's biggest clubs will also be looking elsewhere to fill their squad, meaning that Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka could get pushed up the shortlists for Europe's elite.

An extended stay in the Premier League for Salah could also mean that Liverpool can extend their place as part of the Premier League's top two, with Manchester City and the Reds dominating the title race since Salah's arrival in England in 2017.
