What Mauricio Pochettino has said on Manchester United as possible Ralf Rangnick replacement

Manchester United remain interested in appointing Mauricio Pochettino this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November and United considered Pochettino as a candidate to succeed the Norwegian.

Paris Saint-Germain held firm and refused to entertain the idea of Pochettino leaving the club during the season and United moved to appoint interim boss Ralf Rangnick instead, who will be in charge of United until the end of the campaign.

Rangnick is facing the challenge of securing Champions League football with United after a tumultuous season. The importance of a top-four finish in the Premier League can't be understated. United need it to attract the best managers and signings.

Pochettino falls within that bracket and he could soon become United's newest boss in the summer.

But what has he said on United throughout his career? The MEN have taken a closer look.

After United sacked Solskjaer in November, Pochettino was asked about the Reds' interest in appointing him as manager. The PSG boss didn't give much away with his answers: "I’m fine in Paris. I know the city well both as a player and as a coach," he said.

"I’ve always experienced these kinds of situations. Things happen and it’s not my responsibility. What I’m going to say if you ask me I am happy in Paris. I’m not a kid. I’m not a child. We are in football – it’s a business where the rumours are there.

"I completely understand what’s going on. Sometimes in a positive way or a negative way. This type of thing cannot distract. Rumours are there. We need to live with that. We are so focused. I am so happy at Paris Saint-Germain.
