What happened in Manchester United friendly vs Wrexham
Manchester United defeated Wrexham 4-1 in their behind-closed-doors friendly fixture on Wednesday afternoon as Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez both got their first runouts for the club. The match at Carrington kicked off at 2pm with Erik ten Hag utilising the opportunity to give minutes to a number of senior stars who are still lacking match sharpness.
The Manchester Evening News understands Eriksen netted a goal for United and Wrexham defender Aaron Hayden levelled the scores heading into half-time. United then netted three goals without reply after the break.
It is also understood that Cristiano Ronaldo was in attendance to watch the match from the sidelines as speculation continues to mount over his future at the club. Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire were all also watching on.
