What Frank Lampard said to Dele Alli as new signing arrives at Everton

Everton have released a brilliant clip of new signing Dele Alli being welcomed to Finch Farm by Frank Lampard for the first time.

The manager was officially appointed by the club on transfer deadline day and got straight to work in securing more additions to his Blues squad before the winter window ended.

Donny van de Beek came to Merseyside from Manchester United a few hours later before Everton confirmed a permanent swoop for the Spurs midfielder just after midnight, having submitted a deal sheet to extend their time allowed to confirm the move.

Alli has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Blues and leaves Tottenham Hotspur after seven years at the club.

The influence of Lampard was highlighted as a key factor by both the 25-year-old and his new teammate Van de Beek shortly after their arrivals were confirmed.

And the manager has clearly taken time out of his schedule on Wednesday to personally welcome Alli to Finch Farm for the first time.

The club shared a short clip on their social media accounts of Lampard and his new midfielder with huge smiles on their faces sharing an embrace in a recreation room at the training complex.

The boss can also be heard saying: "We did it."

Alli looks set to join Everton training for the first time on Wednesday after completing his move, but will not be available for his side's match against Brentford on Saturday due to being cup-tied.

The midfielder will, however, be eligible for a crucial trip to face Newcastle United on Tuesday in the Premier League.
