It has been a nightmare season for Philippe Clement - but the latest defeat to St Mirren could prove to be a step too far.
The Belgian has survived the Premier Sports Cup final defeat to Celtic and the humiliating Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Queen's Park - with CEO Patrick Stewart pointing to the Europa League run to the last 16 as a key reason for keeping Clement in post earlier this week. However, with the San Francisco 49ers leading a US consortium takeover at Ibrox a new era is set to dawn and it remains to be seen if Clement will be a part of it.
But with Rangers churning out another poor performance against the Buddles pressure has cranked up a notch leaving the boss under massive pressure before the new owners take charge. The bookmakers already have a succession plan coming into view with a host of names thrown in amid a shifting Ibrox picture.
