Wetherspoons announces January food and drink sale with pints from just £1.99

Pub chain Wetherspoons has announced it is slashing the price of drinks in its January sale - with pints for just £1.99.

The sale kicks off next week. Various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be discounted along with a selection of meals on the pub chain's food menu.

From Tuesday, January 2, all Wetherspoons pubs across England and Wales will reduce their prices, with the sale lasting for two weeks, until Wednesday, January 17.

Pints of Bud Light and Doom Bar will be on sale at an average price of £1.99. A Spoons classic cocktail will be on sale for £2.99, a bottle of Beck's Blue at £1.49, Pepsi Max at £1.49 and refillable Lavazza coffee, tea and hot chocolate at £1.29.

Savings to be made on food include a small breakfast - a fried egg, bacon, sausage, baked beans and toast - for just £1.99, while a selection of burgers will be reduced to £4.99 with a soft drink and £6.46 with an alcoholic drink.

Wetherspoon founder and chairman Tim Martin said: "Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pubs too. The range of drinks and food on sale in the pubs is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. This year we have included our biggest selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks. I believe that the January Sale will prove popular with our customers. As always, staff at the pubs will serve customers responsibly."
