West Ham ramp up transfer interest in Blackburn Rovers player as deadline edges closer

West Ham look like they could be set to really test the mettle of Blackburn’s stance on Ben Brereton-Diaz over the next few days, with Football Insider reporting that both the Chile international and Armando Broja are now his two main players of interest.

The Rovers forward has been in sensational form so far this season, plundering an astonishing 20 goals and one assist in just 27 league games for his club.

That’s despite being just 22-years-old and having already been called up and used by his national team, it appears as though the sky could be the limit for the youngster and there is plenty of potential for him to become even better in attack.

He’s been part of the reason as to why Blackburn are now even dreaming of a potential promotion back into the Premier League – and boss Tony Mowbray will not be keen to lose him just yet.

That hasn’t stopped several sides from registering an interest in his services though and with Brereton-Diaz continuing to shine in the second tier, the battle for his signature is now only growing bigger.

West Ham now seem to be the main club vying for his signature and with this report suggesting that he is one of their two main attacking targets, they could be set for a busy end to the January transfer window.

David Moyes is determined to add another forward to the Hammers’ ranks before the window slams shut – and it looks like it could be Brereton-Diaz if they don’t manage to land Armando Broja.

West Ham are certainly looking in the right place for a striker this month, with both Brereton-Diaz and Broja looking impressive and likely to do the business if given the chance with the Hammers.
