West Ham player reveals what it's like to face Erling Haaland and makes Man City prediction

Erling Haaland has made a fast start to life in the Premier League.

Ever since news broke that Manchester City had completed a £51million transfer for the forward, plenty were fascinated as to how the lethal striker would fare in the English game. And so far, so good for the 22-year-old. He has two goals and an assist in two games for his new employers.

His set-up for Phil Foden in the 4-0 win over Bournemouth came hot on the heels of an opening day brace in a 2-0 win away at West Ham United. That day saw Haaland show his electric pace by forcing the goalkeeper into conceding a penalty - which he would later despatch - before a trademark finish to complete a fine day at the office.

The goalkeeper in question that day was Alphonse Areola, who had only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes after coming on as a substitute before he brought down the City striker in the box. The Frenchman would go on to concede again in the second half as Haaland latched onto a pinpoint through ball by Kevin de Bruyne and applied a superb finish.

Speaking about the City's man prowess, Areola is certain he will not be the last top flight stopper to struggle against the Norwegian.

"He's a good player, as we know. He's powerful, really rapid, quick," said Areola. "We were not surprised, we know the quality of the player. Obviously he scored twice. I think he is going to be a great striker. I think it is going to be difficult to stop him."

Haaland will be attempting to add to his tally on Sunday when City travel to Newcastle.
