West Ham: Moyes has 'big decision to make' over £30m star's future

West Ham United forward Said Benrahma is one of the players that David Moyes will have a ‘big decision to make on’ in the summer, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The 26-year-old arrived at the London Stadium back in October 2020 but has so far struggled to consistently show his best form in his new surroundings.

Benrahma joined the Hammers on an initial loan deal from Brentford before they made his stay permanent in a move that could rise to £30 million if specific clauses are met.

The Algeria international arrived with a sizeable reputation after registering 17 goals and 10 assists in 46 Championship appearances throughout 2019/20, firing the Bees to the play-off final.

His eye-catching displays in the second tier prompted West Ham to splash out on the creative talent, yet he’s been unable to replicate the same level of productivity in the top-flight.

In 70 appearances across all competitions for David Moyes’ charges, Benrahma has racked up 22 goal contributions and last completed a full 90 minutes in the league in October 2021.

Since then, the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals have established themselves as two of the first names on West Ham’s team sheet, limiting the African’s opportunities to shine.

With over four years left on his current contract, Benrahma’s future should be stable with the capital club.

In an exclusive interview, he told GiveMeSport: “He’ll be one of those players Moyes has a big decision to make on in the summer.”
