West Ham making 'unreasonable' London Stadium decision on £150m star

West Ham‘s £150m valuation of star midfielder Declan Rice is “unreasonable”, claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 23-year-old has been linked with English football’s biggest clubs, but even they could be priced out of a move this summer.

Latest reports suggest that Manchester City are keen on signing Rice in the upcoming transfer window.

According to The Telegraph, the Premier League champions are considering making a move for the England international but are wary of another Harry Kane saga.

This comes after David Moyes revealed that Rice’s new price tag now stands at £150m “minimum” in a blow to City and the other clubs circling.

The West Ham star still has a contract until 2024, meaning David Gold and David Sullivan are under no pressure to sell, with The Athletic claiming that the aim is to keep him at Rush Green for at least another year.

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that the price tag that West Ham have slapped on Rice is, simply put, unreasonable.

Speaking to GMS, the football journalist said: “The problem is this price tag that West Ham have put on him of £150m. It’s totally unreasonable; nobody’s going to pay that sort of money for Declan Rice.”

It is not impossible. If there is a club that is able to spend £150m on one player, then it is City, who signed Jack Grealish last year for £100m.

However, it seems that the Citizens could be reluctant to get drawn into another complicated transfer saga after their failure to buy Kane from a stubborn Tottenham last summer, while Erling Haaland seems to be their priority right now.
