West Ham have 'possibility' of bringing £30m star to London Stadium

West Ham will look abroad before turning to Everton defender Michael Keane, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The east London club are currently being linked with the English centre-back, but Jones doubts that he is at the top of their list.

A report from the Daily Star has claimed that West Ham are planning to make a swoop for Keane if Everton are relegated.

David Moyes’ former side are currently in the drop zone, so there is a real chance that they do end up going down at the end of the season.

It would likely spark interest in a host of players, not just Keane, who the Toffees signed for £30m from Burnley back in 2017.

As well as the 29-year-old, team-mate Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also been linked with a move to West Ham, so it looks like the Hammers could raid Goodison Park if Frank Lampard’s men are condemned to the Championship.

While Jones thinks Keane joining West Ham this summer is a possibility, the football journalist has told GIVEMESPORT that Moyes is likely to look abroad first before turning to the England international.

Speaking to GMS, he said: “I think there’s a possibility, but they’re looking at so many people. I think they’re probably looking abroad before they look at Michael Keane if I’m totally honest.

“We’ll have to see what happens with Keane’s situation and where it looks like he’s going to be playing his football next season.”

Given the amount of injuries West Ham have had at the back this term, with Craig Dawson being their only fit central defender in this moment of time, you would expect the Premier League outfit to sign a new centre-half in the summer.
