West Brom unveil plans for Chris Brunt v James Morrison match as stars return

West Bromwich Albion will play host to a charity football match celebrating the service of modern club legends Chris Brunt and James Morrison in September of this year.

Brunt and Morrison amassed a remarkable 763 appearances between them during their playing days; the pair, who knew each other from their days at Middlesbrough, joined the club under Tony Mowbray back in 2007.

Brunt and Morrison are both still at the club in coaching capacities; Brunt assists Richard Beale and Deon Burton at under 23 level, where he works alongside another former teammate in Boaz Myhill.

The Albion Foundation, the club’s own registered charity, is the beneficiary after it was chosen as the cause by both ex players. All proceeds raised will be used to fund community projects in the local area.

“We are honoured and humbled to have been offered a charity match by the club at the place we now call home, The Hawthorns,” a statement released on behalf of Morrison and Brunt read.

“We will always be eternally grateful to the club for the loyalty it has shown us both and we are proud to
