We simulated Manchester United vs Brentford to get a Premier League score prediction

Manchester United will be looking to move back into the Premier League top four when they take on Brentford on Wednesday night.

A 2-0 loss to Newcastle United in United's last outing made it three games without a win in the Premier League, with Erik ten Hag's side conceding nine and scoring zero in that time. At one point, United looked on the verge of competing for the title, but their drop in form now sees them sit in fifth place, just outside the top four on goal difference.

United, Tottenham and Newcastle all possess 50 points, so victory against Brentford will move Ten Hag's side up to third in the table. The last meeting between these two sides ended in a shock 4-0 win for the Bees, with United seeking revenge for the embarrassment they suffered early in the season.

So, can United reclaim a spot in the top four? We simulated the game to find out.

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that United could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Fred, Sabitzer; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial.

We predict that the visitors could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Raya; Hickey, Pinnock, Mee, Henry; Jensen, Norgaard, Damsgaard; Mbuemo, Toney, Wissa.

It was an eventful first half at Old Trafford, with plenty of action at both ends seeing David De Gea make some crucial saves whilst Marcus Rashford came close to an opener. Neither side could open the scoring in the first 45, though it didn't take long after the restart for United to go ahead.
