"We need him" - Manchester United fans show their excitement as club prepare new Antony bid

Manchester United fans could not hide their excitement after news of a fresh bid for Antony emerged.

The MEN broke the news earlier today that United are lining up a new bid for the 22-year-old winger. Erik ten Hag has been interested in reuniting with the his former Ajax player all summer as the Dutch side hold out for a large transfer fee.

It is believed that United will need to submit an offer of around €100million (£84.15million) to secure his services this transfer window. The Eredivisie side are in a strong financial position due to multiple player sales this summer, not least the money received from Lisandro Martinez's move to Old Trafford.

Christian Eriksen is the only attacking player to join United during the transfer window, and with the deadline just over a week away - time is running out for the Reds to negotiate a lower fee for Antony. The player was recently left out of the Ajax squad for their match against Sparta Rotterdam as he looks to try and force through a move to United.

The Brazilian forward impressed last season with Ajax as he scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions for the club. Now it appears that fans are starting to get excited about the prospect of Antony joining United as they reacted to the news of a fresh bid.

Supporters took to social media to share their excitement, and also their desire for the club to conclude the deal quickly with just over a week left in the transfer window.
