Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has revealed that he once wore extra long studs against Chelsea as the Blues closed in on the 2005/06 title because he "couldn't take" that.
"I changed my studs before the game. I put longer studs in because I wanted to hurt someone," the United legend said in a preview of his upcoming Amazon documentary, via The Mirror.
"If Chelsea won a point, they won the league," he added. "At that time, I couldn’t take it.
"The studs were legal, they were a legal size, but they were bigger than what I would normally wear."
Declan Rice will continue to morph into a box-to-box midfielder, rather than a holding style, as his career progresses according to Danny Murphy.
Rice scored an injury time equaliser for West Ham against Kidderminster on Saturday and Murphy was full of praise for the Chelsea transfer target on Match of the Day.
