Watch: Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford scores brilliant goals in training

After a difficult spell in front of goal, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford now appears to be rediscovering his best form.

Rashford scored 21 goals in all competitions in 2020-21, helping United finish second in the Premier League and reach the Europa League final.

But he was playing through the pain barrier and missed the start of this season after undergoing surgery on a long-standing shoulder injury in August 2021.

The England international returned to full fitness in October and made an immediate impact, scoring against Leicester City, Tottenham and Atalanta.

But he then went 11 games without a goal and was heavily criticised for his performance in United’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup.

The 23-year-old finally got back on the scoresheet against Brentford and followed that up with the winning goal against West Ham a few days later.

“He’s one of the top strikers in England – we know the qualities he has,” Rangnick said after the West Ham game. “He has almost everything a modern striker needs: pace, skill, the size and physicality.

“In the end, it’s all about confidence for strikers and I’m pretty sure those two goals will have raised the level of confidence with Marcus and now it’s about taking steps, it’s about continuity. I think he can play a very important role for the rest of the season for us.”

Rashford is currently spending the winter break at the Nas Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai alongside United team-mate Jesse Lingard.

The forward was filmed practising his finishing and beat the goalkeeper with two stunning strikes. He’ll now be hoping to score for a third game running when United face Middlesbrough in the FA Cup next week.
