Watch: Man Utd loanee Dylan Levitt scores long-range beauty vs. Celtic

Manchester United’s attention may have been on their FA Youth Cup final against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday but another of their promising youngsters, Dylan Levitt, showcased his talents with a wonderful long-range strike for Dundee United against Celtic.

The United youngster has impressed while on loan in the Scottish Premiership this season and is reportedly set on impressing new United boss Erik ten Hag during pre-season.

And Levitt would have done his chances no harm with a wonderful goal against the champions-elect Celtic at a raucous Tannadice.

Dundee United were trailing 1-0 when the Wales international collected the ball inside the opposition half and lashed a dipping drive right into the corner from more than 25 yards out.

Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart was left with no chance of stopping Levitt’s effort and the young talent celebrated whole-heartedly following his eye-catching effort.

Levitt’s performances could come at an important time with regards to his future at United. The 21-year-old’s contract at Old Trafford expires this summer, and he’ll hope his performances north of the border are enough to earn him a new deal.

“With the new manager [ten Hag] going in at United, hopefully I’ll get a chance,” he said in an interview with The Courier last month.

“My contract is up in the summer and it hasn’t been spoken about. Hopefully, I will hear something in the next few weeks.

“I still keep in touch with boys at United frequently and they are excited about the new manager. When you hear a new manager is coming in, it gives a buzz about the place.

“I’d love to be able to go back and make an impact — it’s everyone’s dream to do that.”
