WATCH | Kiwis can fly! SA-born Glenn Phillips lights up T20 World Cup with stunning grab
The cheery Blacks Caps once again showed their penchant for performing heroics on the big stage with a dominant performance as underdogs against Australia in the opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup's Top 12 stage on Saturday.
First it was former Lions and Dolphins left-hander Devon Conway who stole the show with a magnificent, unbeaten 92 in the New Zealanders' imposing total of 200/3.
Then the bowlers took over to fully capitalise on the platform.
But the cherry on top was Glenn Phillips, born in Durban and raised in New Zealand, who showcased his wicketkeeping skills in the outfield with a stunning, diving grab on the deep cover boundary.
It will take some beating to eclipse this early contender for catch of the tournament, proving that Kiwis can indeed fly!
