Now, Gautam Gambhir almost had another incident with his former teammate Sreesanth. During a Legends League Cricket eliminator Match, Gautam Gambhir went hammer and tongs against Gujarat Giants while playing for India Capitals. Gautam Gambhir hit seven fours and one six ro score 51 off 30 balls. His innings was crucial in India Capitals winning the match at Legends League Cricket, a T20 competiton where former players feature.

The match also saw an incident between Gautam Gambhir and Sreesanth. After he hit Sreesanth for a six and a four, the fast bowler gave him a long stare. Gautam Gambhir was not amused.

Following his return to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as a mentor, the former India international Gautam Gambhir said the franchise is very close to his heart.
